How does it work?

Chiropractors use gentle, targeted adjustments to the spine and other joints in the body. These adjustments are designed to restore proper function, helping the body and mind return to balance so natural healing can take place.

The founder of chiropractic, D.D. Palmer, believed that many health problems stemmed from interruptions in nerve flow caused by misaligned spinal vertebrae. By restoring healthy nerve communication, the body is better able to function and heal itself.

Health is the body’s natural state. When your nervous system is balanced, your body can adapt more easily to the stresses of life - whether they’re physical (trauma), mental (thoughts), or chemical (toxins).

A common myth is that chiropractic care is only for back pain. In reality, it can support a wide range of conditions, including headaches, neck pain, TMJ issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more.

At its core, chiropractic care is about restoring balance so your body can perform at its highest potential.

Is it safe for me?

Chiropractic is considered to be one of the safest forms of healthcare available. In fact, it has been shown to be much safer than taking medication or having surgery.

Chiropractic care can be a very effective, safe way to treat various types of musculoskeletal issues as well as chronic pain conditions like arthritis.

Side effect from chiropractic are rare and are typically minor, such as soreness or stiffness.

What is Chiropractic?

You’ve probably heard of chiropractors, and maybe you even know someone who sees one regularly. But what exactly is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic is all about helping your body work the way it’s meant to. It focuses on the spine because when the spine isn’t moving or functioning as it should, it can interfere with your nervous system.

Your nervous system, made up of your brain and spinal cord, is responsible for everything going on in your body: your muscles, organs, cells, and even how you feel.

That’s where chiropractors come in. Their job is to gently correct those areas of interference, restoring clear communication between your brain and body so you can feel and function at your best. This is most often done through safe, specific adjustments to the spine, designed to help your body thrive naturally.

Where did it start?

Chiropractic care isn’t new. In fact, its roots go back thousands of years. As early as 400 BC, Hippocrates, often called the father of medicine, wrote about the importance of spinal manipulation. Similar practices were also used for centuries in China and other parts of Asia.

Chiropractic as we know it today began in the late 19th century. In 1895, Daniel David Palmer, a healer from Davenport, Iowa, performed what’s considered the first chiropractic adjustment on a man named Harvey Lillard.

Just two years later, Palmer founded the first chiropractic school in 1897. The profession quickly gained traction and by 1922, there were more than 500 chiropractic schools in the United States. Today, chiropractic is practiced around the world, with over 100 schools training chiropractors globally, and the profession is regulated in most countries.

What are the benefits?

Chiropractic care offers a wide range of benefits for your body and overall health. It can help relieve pain, improve mobility, reduce inflammation, and enhance nerve function. Many people also find that regular care supports their immune system and helps prevent injuries.

One of the most common benefits is relief from neck and back pain. But the advantages go far beyond that because your nervous system controls everything in your body, chiropractic care can also support better energy levels, digestion, and even fine sensations, like the feeling in your fingertips.

By restoring balance and optimal function to your nervous system, chiropractic care helps your body work at its very best.

If you are looking for a way to optimise your life, then consider chiropractic care. This type of care can be life changing whether it’s for pain relief, performance enhancement or helping a stressed system.

A stronger nervous system means a stronger you.
